Midway Island is part of the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument located 1300 miles NW of Honolulu. It is the only UNESCO designated world heritage site in the US, home to one of the most diverse ecosystems with significant cultural sites. I was the documentary photographer for two scientific trips with the Duke Marine Lab Team. With over 400,000 pairs of nesting Laysan Albatross on the island, it remains closed to visitation.
